"I'll admit when I first approached Katie regarding our wedding cake I was a little apprehensive about how good it would be given how reasonable her prices are, but i shouldn't have been. Her cakes were everything we wanted them to be. They looked classically elegant and tasted so so good!! Her sponge was light and buttery and the red velvet was spot on. Not only that, Katie's customer service was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. She even trusted me with her cake stand which just elevated the look of the cake.

Hi, I'm Katie the owner of Katies Cakes.
I never really knew what I wanted to do in life career wise and I tried a few different options but i never found anything that I was good at. I started baking as a hobby in 2012, trying out different recipes and techniques. I enrolled on a cake decorating course at Bolton College and it was there where my passion really came to life for cakes. As I kept practicing and friends / family tasting my cakes everyone would say to me ' you should sell these, katies cakes' and then the name kinda just stuck.
Building my business slowly from 2014, I took some time away to have children and deal with personal matters. Forward to 2020 where I refreshed my interest in baking during the pandemic, struggling to get ingredients because everyone seemed to be baking. I run my business from home to be able to look after my beautiful daughters.
My husband also works alongside me assisting in the design and baking of the cakes, his passion for cakes has inspired me more times than I can imagine and if it wasn't for him Katies cakes would have only been a dream, he has helped make it a reality. He has years of experience as a bread baker but made the decision to move towards cakes in 2019, he's picked it up really quickly and amazes me everyday.
Katies Cakes offers a huge range of cakes for any occasion, cupcakes, sponge cakes, brownies and sweet treats, big cakes or small in a large range of flavours, colours and themes. As each cake is hand-crafted to your individual requirements we can suit all tastes and budgets.
